Montessori inspired Shelf Work For my Three-Year-Old

As I have mentioned before, I do not want to place a lot of focus on what our shelf work is. Especially as, right now, Jerome is choosing imaginary and crafting more often than not these days.

However, as this is a question I get quite often, I wanted to share what I currently have prepared on the shelves for Jerome, our three year old.

This is a somewhat more complicated version of Spot It!, a game which I think is terrific for children Jerome's age and up. So far we play this as a team.

A simple numbers puzzle.

We are doing the three-part lesson with sandpaper lessons, and then he will match the counters to each number.

The Montessori binomial cube

Pin punching. I offer him a page with dots on it and he punches them.

This is Jerome's favorite work. We organize the letter cards according to the alphabet, and then he matches the magnetic letters.

This is a new work which the boys play together.

And then we always have different puzzles and board games, like Hi! Ho! Cherry-O, Playful Patterns, and Go Fish.

Have a great weekend! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me. I would also love to hear any suggestions for posts you would like me to write about. And if you are interested in following along in our daily adventures, follow us on Instagramwhere I post daily.

God bless,
Olivia Fischer
